Today our Mindfulness session is all about KINDNESS. This week all across the country is #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek. Looking after your mental health, is a normal part of daily life, just like exercise is. We all need to make sure that we spend time looking after our mental wellbeing by doing exercises for our MIND.
The theme for Mental Health Awareness week this year is #kindnessmatters
Did you know that by showing KINDNESS towards others can actually be good for your own health and wellbeing too? When you show KINDNESS to others, a message gets sent to your brain to release a hormone called oxytocin – this is a feel-good hormone! So by showing KINDNESS you will make the person feel happy and you will make yourself feel happy too… it’s win win!
So as we spend another week at home, I want you to think about all of the different ways that you can show kindness to your family at home. Maybe you can help out with some jobs around the house? Or share a favourite toy with your sibling? Remember showing KINDNESS will make you AND the other person feel happy. So fill you homes with kindness this week.
